I started practicing some of the parts over the past week. It gave me a good idea of where am. I realized that I could start recording some of the parts very soon.
I am a bass player, I am a singer, I am composer, I am a songwriter, I am a multi-instrumentalist, but I am not an engineer. I will record the foreground tracks at a professional studio with a professional engineer. I will, however, record the background tracks in my home studio. I need to upgrade some gear, then I can start recording some of the background tracks. I will wait until I have some of the background tracks recorded to book the sessions at the professional studio.
I still need to write the lyrics for one of the first songs that I will start recording the background tracks for when I upgrade my gear. I could technically start recording the background tracks for it whether I have the lyrics written or not, but for many reasons it will make more sense to start recording it if the lyrics are written. I have the subject. I just need to write the words and melodies.
