New Album, Week of February 28, 2022

I've been practicing the parts for the first few sessions more, and that has been great. I still have the three tasks and hand from the previous week. To recap, I have a song that I need to write lyrics for, I need to practice the parts that I will record in the first few sessions, and I need to upgrade some gear in my home studio, which is where I will record background tracks, I will record foreground tracks in a pro studio. Figuring out how to balance my focus on the three tasks at hand has been a bit difficult. If I write the lyrics for the song, I can start recording as long as I have the parts practiced and the gear situation squared away. If I have the parts practiced, I can start recording as long as I have the lyrics for the song written and the gear situation squared away. If I have the gear situation squared away, I can start recording as long as I have the lyrics for the song written and the parts practiced. It has felt like some kind of cycling thing where I can't find a point to grab onto and start with. I have had to think about it a lot, and I realized that writing the lyrics for the song and practicing the parts are writing and playing things, and writing and playing are very natural for me. Getting the gear situation squared away is not a writing or playing thing, and there are even parts of it that I am figuring out how to do as I do them. Realizing that has been very helpful. Now I have a plan for how I'm going to do each one of the three tasks at hand. I still don't have a plan for how I'm going to balance my focus on them over the next week, but I have a plan for how I'm going to do each one.
